Ait-Awari is a Tuareg tribe of Niger, thought to be descendants of the Berber peoples who emigrated towards the south centuries ago. They speak Tetserret (or Tin Sert), a Western Berber language that is related to the languages of the gulf of Sirte in Lybia and rapidly disappearing in favor of the more widespread Tawellemmet Tuareg language.
