The Gur-speaking Bwa population extends from Mali’s Bani River to the Black Volta in Burkina Faso. Like for many of their neighbors, including the Bobo ― a distinctively Mande group with whom they are often confused ―, farming is of utmost importance to them. They grow cotton, peanuts, sorghum, yams.
