The Ga and Adangme people are grouped together as part of the Ga–Dangme ethnolinguistic group of Ghana, Togo, and Benin, and together they are a subgroup of the Dangme. They primarily inhabit the greater Accra Plains and the very name “Accra” is derived from the traditional Ga kingdom of Nkran. Coastal people, they are active fishermen and commercial traders.
